Huawei has already sold more than 100 million phones so far this year

Huawei continues its journey towards the top of the telephone industry. Just a few days after presenting its two best smartphones to date, the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro, today we know that the Chinese giant has reached the 100 million phones sold so far this year.

This is not the first time Huawei has exceeded this figure, far from it. Last year, at this time of the year, the company announced that it had reached exactly the same figure, to the end the 2016 exercise with 140 million devices sold worldwide.

However, this does not mean that the company’s growth continues to be bestial. In fact, the firm’s CEO confirmed several days ago that the annual growth rate already exceeds 19%, with revenues during the first three quarters of the year that have grown by 30%.

Huawei continues to grow with eye on Samsung and Apple

At the beginning of the year, Huawei was breastfeeding to have surpassed a heavyweight like Samsung in the Spanish market. This was just one of the many victories that the company has achieved over the last few years, on its way to become the first telephone company worldwide, something that, according to the CEO of the Consumer Bussiness Group of the firm, will end happening sooner or later:

Huawei will definitely outperform Apple and Samsung. That is our destiny. Maybe I’m not humble … but no one can stop us. – Richard Yu

Now, the company’s objective is to continue improving the middle and high lines of its mobile catalog, with the aim of expanding its global market and improving its image as a brand.

With more than 10,000 employees worldwide working in research and development, we hope to win more high-end customers as there is more profit in the high-end sector.

This, of course, does not mean that Huawei will leave the intermediate ranges aside, especially considering that the “Lite” editions of its phones are among the best-selling in its catalog. Be that as it may, there is no doubt that the company’s strategy is working: it first managed to outperform Apple as the second-best-selling brand, and now it is slowly approaching Samsung, the last stone on the road before reaching the summit. The Korean, yes, will not make it easy.
